Located within a heritage conservation area in the suburb of Hunters Hill, the construction involved an open plan layout to the rear with some modification to the existing internal bedrooms to the front.
The close proximity of the neighbouring home caused privacy issues so the rear ‘blinker’ concept was developed by the architect to divide the area and create privacy. The ‘blinker’ was constructed with timber stud framing cladded with standing seam Colorbond cladding and blackbutt timber lining to the inner skin, as well as the eaves’ lining.
The project also included hydronic heating, recycled face brick internal walls, Colorbond sheet metal cladding, custom joinery and French oak flooring.
