Abbotsford Residence

Designed by Alchemy Architecture, the key concepts for the Abbotsford Residence were open space and light. This home renovation involved creating an open plan to kitchen and dining areas. Stacked sliding glass doors to the whole northern side of the house let in lots of natural light and so does the open thread staircase at the entrance of the house. Overall, the Abbotsford residence boasts a spacious feel with plenty of light.

 

The project also included hydronic heating under the polished concrete floor  and recycled face brick internal walls.

External aluminium louvres are motorised and operable by a remote control to provide privacy or filtered light as required. Wind sensors were also installed to provide additional protection.
